KEYNOTE: MA’MAQUEEN || The Reality of Living the Fantasy

Venus Bijleveld, a drag artist professionally known as Ma’MaQueen, will share their journey of creating an alter ego and how this can transform one’s identity and society at large. They will also invite us to imagine a world where everyone can be who they want to be, without fear or judgement. Ma’MaQueen is an inspiring artist and undeniable talent. She is the proud mother of the House of Holographic Hoes, fashion designer and versatile force to reckon with.

KEYNOTE: DAN JING WU ||The Bumpy Career Road, From Engineering to Tech Startup

What do you want to be when you grow up? A question that everyone encounters. Actually it's possible to become anything you want, even outside the borders of your education. Dan Jing Wu received her PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering and is building on the startup VivArt-X ever since, with the mission to help breast cancer patients with an efficient reconstructive surgery. Next to that she is a science communicator and co-founder of a Dutch fashion label NOYA NOIR. The road she never envisioned as an engineering student.

Futures envisioned by film, TV, video games, and music have inspired cosmic adventures, utopias, cautionary tales, and valuable insights into achieving the once impossible. What can we extract from science fiction to enhance our daily design and problem-solving practices? By analyzing past and current science fiction works, she demonstrates how they shape our visions of the future (desired and undesirable) and their relevance to creative design.
